Chrysalis Wireless Table Top MP3 Amplified Radio

Wireless technology allows this radio to access your computer and play all the music stored on the hard drive. The radio can be moved anywhere in and around the home.

Since the client was a start up, the industrial design goal was to create a style that would not cause a “no buy” decision. The design is a combination of technology that is at comfort in most any décor. The control panel swings up to allow full view of the display as well as operation of all search functions for selecting music. Selected music play is controlled by the buttons located on top.

The industrial design goal was to create a style that fit the high technology of high end audio rack mounted equipment and enhance the overall appearance of the system. The initial design with the cylindrical towers looked exciting; however, when placed with other rack mounted equipment, the towers did not blend well with the system. The towers were removed to improve the overall appearance. Since rack mounted equipment could be positioned anywhere on the rack, a costly swing-up control panel was not required.
